Autumn is a truly beautiful time of year to get married. Not only is it still warm in the early months, but the foliage and colours make beautiful scenery for a memorable wedding day.
From bright oranges to dusty pinks, there are plenty of great ideas for your autumn wedding flowers. Check out my picks for some great autumn flower selections for your wedding below.
Crisp, Seasonal Colours
If you’re looking to truly incorporate the spirit of autumn into your wedding, then you’ll love the beautiful reds and oranges which are now in season to help you create some vibrant and gorgeous bouquets.
I love mixing bright roses with different leaves as well as autumn berries as a fabulous way to bring the season to your wedding.
Little Hints Of Nature
Autumn weddings are a great chance to show off your creative side, with plenty of unique ideas for table décor and other pieces to display at your venue.
I think using pumpkins and other harvest vegetables to house your arrangements is a great idea, and it allows you to use up the last of summer flowers like sunflowers, fuchsias and others as well as mixing in more wintery elements such as ivy to blend the look together.
Copper Tones And Greenery
As the leaves begin to turn brown, it can be nice to incorporate some contrasting greens into your wedding bouquet, with dashes of coppery coloured leaves to create a beautiful seasonal bouquet.
I love to incorpoate red oak foliage and thistles to give a stylish autumnal look and feel. Red or green amaranthus work well to create trails to form a teardrop shape too.
Classic seasonal colours to include orange, peach, red, burgundy, purple, yellows, golds, copper and bronze.
The addition of berries, foliage and other autumnal elements make for a standout design. Red hypericum berry is perfect for wrist corsages and button holes to create a seasonal look.
Here I’ve teamed autumnal berries with rust orange calla lily for a contemporary design attached to luxury pearl bead wrist corsages.
It’s always good to include one accent colour that “lifts” the overall colour combination. For example the inclusion of yellow spray roses in these wrist corsages both compliments and provides interest to an otherwise darker autumnal colour combination.
Whilst spring and summer are all about bright shades and vivid arrangements, autumn brides can take advantage of the more muted colours which are available at this time of year, which help to create a subtler, earthier look perfect for country or shabby chic wedding flowers.
Mix pale violets with muscari, pink roses and veronicas and other types of pale flowers for easy autumn chic.
