There are some great Wedding trends out there for this year, but the one I’ve fallen in love with is ‘country style’ weddings.  This Wedding theme has an authentic, beautiful and natural quality to it, and can be achieved using many things that you have lying around the house and garden!

Using real wood tones throughout, wild look flowers and any containers with a rustic feel, it is a wedding look that is surprisingly easy to recreate.  Below I take a look at this trend in more detail below:

A traditional British wedding deserves traditional British flowers!  You can create some truly stunning bridal bouquets using some of our nations wildest flowers – delivering a style which is colourful, natural and reflects the natural country theme perfectly.

Think bluebells for spring, or wild or garden roses, fuchsias later into the season to re-create this beautiful style. Here at Isle of Wight Flowers, we can source all your British wild flower faourites for you.

Some of my favourite wedding table centrepieces and decorative vases I’ve used throughout my career are Mason jars, vintage jugs and watering cans. They are affordable, reusable and are the epitome of traditional English country style.

I suggest you fill these items with whatever flowers you wish, although I personally think classic flowers like daisies and white garden roses make a great traditional twist. You can even add some colour by painting and decorating your flower holders using your wedding theme colours, lace and ribbons for a more polished touch.

There are lots of clever ways to use items that are lying around and boxes, barrels and buckets always make great decorative touches for your country wedding venue.

I use them to hold flowers from small bouquets, decorate seating plans through to larger displays to provide photo opportunities and add that special touch to your wedding venue. I find that pure white flowers such as roses and peonies make a great contrast to wooden frames and are perfect for a spring or summer wedding.

Whether you’re opting for a shabby chic wedding or are trying to cut costs there are some great traditional wedding flowers can make a beautiful centrepiece for your guests.

Choose giant daisies, bold sunflowers, vibrant garden roses set in different shape containers to make cute and original centrepieces, which won’t cost you the earth but make a very stylish addition to your wedding décor.

I love helping Brides discover their perfect arrangement for their country themed wedding.  If you have an idea of the colour theme you’d like, my Wedding team here at Isle of Wight Flowers can recommend some great flower options, as well as provide you with some original ideas if you’re drawing a blank.
